Perfect Runjin: Chinese Businessmen's Chinese Dream in the Reform and Opening-up

[Direct Report Network BeijingDecember 21st] (First Financial Network)"When I first returned to China, it was the very active stage of China's reform and opening up. Since the reform and opening up, overseas Chinese and their relatives have been actively involved in China's opening up and building a well-off society in an all-round way. I have also been privileged to witness a thriving and prosperous scene in China.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. Talking about the changes brought about by the reform and opening up, Gu Runjin, chairman of Perfect (China) Co., Ltd., recalls his journey of returning home to start his own business, and his heart is filled with emotion.
In the process of reform and opening up, overseas Chinese are pioneers and co-builders, as well as beneficiaries and sharers of the achievements of reform and opening up. According to relevant statistics, there are more than 60 million overseas Chinese. Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, as the main body of China's foreign investment introduction, the investment of Chinese businessmen accounts for about 70% of the total foreign investment actually utilized. With the spring breeze of China's reform and opening up, Perfect Company has grown into an international modern enterprise after more than 20 years of development, while actively contributing to China's economic, social development and public welfare undertakings.
Reform and Opening-up, Returning to Home to Start Business
Gurunjin is the third generation of Chinese born in Malaysia. In the early 1990s, China's reform and opening up entered a new stage. Meanwhile, Malaysia's relations with China have also made new progress. The Malaysian government has relaxed the restrictions on Chinese returning to their homeland to seek their roots and ancestors. In March 1990, he went to his native land for the first time with his fellow countrymen in Zhongshan, Malaysia, to solicit relatives.
The vast land, ancient culture, enthusiastic villagers, the rapid economic development of his hometown, let Gu Runjin make up his mind to repay his ancestral country and return home to start his own business.
When he returned to China for the first time, he found that people here seldom use bath gel. Most hotels and families use soap, so he decided to make daily chemical products and promote the use of bath gel in China.
In 1994, Gu Runjin and his friends founded the Perfect Company in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, which mainly produces health food, small kitchenware, cosmetics, cleaning products and personal care products.
"The reason why the company is named"perfect"is that there is no perfect thing in the world, but we take this as our goal, continue to innovate and pursue until we approach..." Gu Runjin recalls that "we solemnly promise to the society that"three unchanged": the concept of providing high-quality products for consumers unchanged; the concept of providing career development opportunities for perfect distributors unchanged; and the concept of insisting on investment and long-term development in China unchanged. I hope to use my own practical actions to create a perfect quality, integrity enterprise, and contribute to the construction of home.
In June 1997, the completion ceremony of the Perfect Building was held smoothly, and the company finally owned an office building of its own. The completion of the Perfect Building demonstrates the determination of the Perfect Company to "base itself on Zhongshan and take root in China". In the spring of 1998, the company decided to invest another $20 million to build a larger production base.
In April 1998, with the "Notice on Prohibiting Pyramid Sales" issued by the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, many companies that violate the rules and hype stopped business and even absconded with money. Perfect Company responded to the national policy, stopped all business activities, and quickly and timely solved the emergency problems after the suspension of business, and remitted the remuneration that business partners should receive to each other through the post office. At that time, the smallest remittance bill was 25 yuan, which greatly guaranteed the vital interests of business partners.Rooting in China, Innovation and Development
On New Year's Day 2000, the company's production base held a celebration of the completion of the first phase of the project.
In 2004, the second phase of the project was completed and put into operation.
In September 2004, the company established Yangzhou Perfect Commodity Co., Ltd., a production base in East China, in Yangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Jiangsu Province. It adopted the fully intelligent and closed production system of international advanced level to continuously improve the level of intelligent manufacturing and product quality, and became an advanced manufacturing enterprise in Jiangsu Province.
