The street drug factory, founded in 1969, was transformed from an apiary, which produced pollen and bee products in the early days. Like many collectively owned enterprises that are transitioning from a planned economy to a market economy, the Yunshan Pharmaceutical Factory was floating, old equipment, single product, and low margins. Old employees were lazy and lazy, and young employees were mostly uneasy.
 
In the face of many difficulties, the young Hu Jiqiang did not retreat. Under the auspices of Hu Jiqiang, Yunshan Pharmaceutical Factory developed a new drug in 1985, Qianliekang. This is the world's first drug that uses pollen as the main raw material to treat prostate diseases, filling the market gap of domestic prostate drugs.
 
This product with good efficacy and small side effects was highly successful once it was introduced to the market. In the same year, it achieved sales of 80,000 bottles. Nowadays, Qianliekang is still the most popular prostate disease treatment drug in China.
 
The small pharmaceutical factories that have gone from bad to worse have embarked on a high-speed development. In 1984, Yunshan Pharmaceutical Factory had an annual output value of more than 5 million and a profit of more than 800,000. In 1987, sales increased to more than 30 million and the profit reached more than 5 million. From 1987 to 1989, the comprehensive economic benefits of the whole plant ranked first in the same industry in Zhejiang Province for three consecutive years.

However, at the time, domestic pharmaceutical companies lacked an understanding of the components of the extract and did not have extraction techniques. In 1990, after the research, the Ginkgo biloba extract produced by Yunshan Pharmaceutical Factory was launched, which is a breakthrough for domestic enterprises. Also in this year, the name "Connbe" was born, and Lanxi Yunshan Pharmaceutical Factory was renamed Zhejiang Kangenbei Pharmaceutical Company. Later, in 1992, Kang Enbei successfully developed the first modern plant medicine in China that meets international standards - Tianbaoning Ginkgo Leaf. By 1995, Tianbaoning's sales had reached about 80 million, and together with Qianliekang became the two major products of Kangenbei.
 
Since the 1990s, Kang Enbei's development has entered a fast lane. Enterprises and products have successively harvested a series of national and provincial honors and become a "star enterprise" in the industry. For the development of enterprises, talents, capital and market are the most important factors.
